The Society for Policy Studies (SPS) is an independent think tank focused on public policy, international relations, global business and human development and their strategic, security, economic and social impact on India, the Indian diaspora and the larger South Asian region. It helps foster dialogue among opinion leaders and provides a non-partisan forum to engage with critical issues, affecting India and South Asia and its engagement with the rest of the world.

As this region deals with policy challenges from strategic to economic, from social to environmental, the experiments in democratic governance and diplomatic engagement in and between India and other South Asian countries, including, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the extended neighbourhood and a globalised world, offering valuable lessons for robust examination, criticism and commentary.

SPS, with its intellectual resources and power to convene successful events, is uniquely positioned to bring together policy makers, diplomats, officials, academics, analysts and journalists from India and the region to facilitate public conversation, encourage new thinking and provide more informed and objective ideas and perspectives to current policy debates and offer alternative approaches, viewpoints and even solutions to some intractable problems.

SPS believes in the power of knowledge, ideas and skills in today’s information-driven society and works to disseminate, debate and develop them through association with thought leaders, resource persons and domain experts in various fields.
